We are opening applications for a range of casual roles across the Assembly Rooms and Church Hill Theatre. Both venues sit within the Culture Edinburgh family and host everything from sold out comedy and live music to weddings, festivals, conferences, and community productions. We will be interviewing in the New Year and are looking for confident, friendly people who enjoy working with the public and want to gain real experience in busy cultural venues.

All roles are casual, which means you can fit work around your studies, other jobs or personal commitments. You can pick up shifts that suit you and gain experience across both venues while being part of a supportive, fast-moving events environment.

Customer Service Assistant

This role is ideal for anyone looking for their first step into live events. No experience is required. You will help welcome audiences, check tickets, support the cloakroom, assist ushers, and sometimes help the bar team during busy events. Every shift is different. One night might be a comedy show, the next a wedding or community production. You will receive full training and gain strong customer service and event experience.

Front of House Supervisor

If you have some customer service or events experience and are ready to take on more responsibility, this is a great step up. You will help guide the front of house team, brief staff, oversee audience flow, support accessibility, and ensure the venue runs smoothly during events. You will work closely with duty managers and bar supervisors, building leadership skills and confidence while working across two busy venues.

Bar Supervisor

For applicants with bar experience who want to move into event bars, this is a chance to lead small teams, manage stock, set up bars and oversee service during busy intervals and receptions. You will work across comedy, concerts, weddings, and festival events and will develop your leadership, organisation and customer service skills in a lively and rewarding environment.
