Assembly Rooms
We know what it takes to put on a good show with a history of performance events experience, including our long-standing involvement as an Edinburgh festivals venue.
Our flagship performance space is the Music Hall, ideal for seated and standing events of up to 900 people. The space is highly adaptable being used to host both theatre and concert productions, as well as spoken word and comedy.
Beyond the Music Hall we have our Ballroom and other smaller scale spaces which lend themselves well to a variety of performances from chamber music and DJ sets, to spoken word and plays. The venue has plenty of scope for your next performance event.
Many famous faces have appeared at the venue and recently audiences have enjoyed performances by: Annie Lennox, Ian Rankin, Ruby Wax, Gary Numan, Katie Melua, Kate Rusby, Paul Young, Ólafur Arnalds, Retro Video Club, First Aid Kit and Scottish Chamber Orchestra to name a few.

Seating up to 2500 people, this is a popular outdoor concert venue for daytime and evening events. Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Jazz Festival use the theatre regularly in summertime, and at Christmas and Hogmanay it’s a key venue for the city.
