Coronavirus (COVID-19): Advice for Event Organisers

We are all subject to the on-going Government restrictions programme and understand the impact this is having on event organisers and the difficult circumstances that arise as a result.
The Council has to adhere to the current ban on public gatherings and the operation of licensed premises. It has applied the necessary measures across its own venues and spaces, and Licensing will continue to implement and where necessary enforce measures for spaces and events not under direct Council ownership. It will continue to reflect, and act upon, the UK and Scottish Governments’ public instruction. Where an event does not require a licence, event organisers should comply with the current government instructions relating to the ban on events and gatherings.
This position will be reviewed following Government sharing when and how the current legal restrictions will be lifted. In the meantime, where a licence application is made for a new event date it will be acknowledged but will not be processed and no decision will be made until the Government position is updated. Anyone proceeding with re-scheduling an event to later in the year may wish to consider the related and evident risks.
